ESL Program mission
To provide English as a Second Language classes on site, in a culturally appropriate setting with culturally sensitive staff, for adult members of the Southeast Asian (Vietnamese, Laotian, Cambodian and Chinese) community of Worcester who have limited fluency in English, and as a result are having difficulty moving out of the poverty cycle and/or integrating into mainstream society.
The Conversation class
Last semester we started the conversation class, where the focus lay on the daily use of English. The class proved a great success, and filled a need of our students to practice their conversational skills.
This semester a new part of the conversation class is the focus on the citizenship test.
And here at the Southeast Asian Coalition we want to make sure our students are well prepared and confident in their English once they go in for the test.
